Oh, the accounts were actually deleted on December 24, 1998, because Danny had time to do it that day! Once again, anyone who wants their account back should re-apply like applying for a new account!

Subject: Your account will be deleted

Your Wolf Den / PCFA.ORG account is scheduled for deletion on December 31, 1998. If you want to keep your account, send e-mail to 'admin@pcfa.org' with a message similar to "I want to keep my account!".

You will probably want to keep your account if read this message! If you read this message, you are probably using the "POP3" protocol to read your PCFA.ORG mail from another server. And that's a great way to use PCFA.ORG!

The Prescott Community Freenet Association (PCFA), which operates PCFA.ORG, anticipates that most users who receive this message will never see it, because they have not checked their e-mail in such a long period of time. This message is being sent to users whose last "interactive" login to PCFA.ORG or wolfden.swsc.k12.ar.us was on or before December 31, 1997.

On February 27, 1998, PCFA's internet server changed it's name from "Wolf Den" to "PCFA.ORG" and the server moved from the APSCN public school line to the internet connection of Internet of Clark County (IOCC.COM). IOCC is the commercial internet service provider (ISP) which agreed to furnish a connection in Prescott. The move was necessitated because of the FCC's e-rate tariffs, which provided public schools with a substantial discount, but did not allow for services such as "Wolf Den" on the lines.

Almost all active Wolf Den / PCFA.ORG users have established an account with IOCC.COM. Many no longer need their PCFA.ORG accounts. When an inactive account remains on an internet server, it not only takes up space and administrator time, but also leaves the server susceptible to security breaches.

If you want to keep your PCFA.ORG account and prevent messages such as this in the future, do an "interactive" login at least once each calendar quarter. This can be done by dialing the 887-1842 number using a standard terminal program (such as Telix or HyperTerminal), or by using a telnet client to login to PCFA.ORG. Please note: Your must send e-mail to 'admin@pcfa.org' in reply to this message -- any login you do now will not prevent your account from being deleted on December 31, 1998.

Any user whose account is deleted may submit an application for an account under the same guidelines as applying for a new account. Applications are available at the Bank of Prescott or Auto Parts and Supply of Prescott (NAPA).
