PCFA.ORG urges users to NOT open an attachment to an e-mail unless
- the source of the e-mail is known,
- the nature of the attachment is known, and
- the attachment is expected.
With the shoe on the other foot, any person sending an e-mail attachment can expect the
attachment to be deleted without being viewed!
With security threats so numerous
today, all computers should have a good, up-to-date anti-virus program with up-to-date
resources. Danny recommends
Norton AntiVirus with the "Live Update"
routine set to run once daily for computers usually "on", or 2-3 times daily for
computers usually "off" (think about it).

Sendmail and Procmail Programs
|
PCFA.ORG utilizes the sendmail and
procmail programs.
PCFA.ORG uses some "recipes" in the /etc/procmailrc file.
In addition to PCFA.ORG's system-wide scan, some PCFA.ORG uses may have a
.procmailrc (notice the dot "." before the lower case letters) file in their
home directory. The file must NOT send e-mail to the PCFA.ORG administrative accounts
and must not create an undue burdern on the PCFA.ORG server.
PCFA.ORG also filters incoming
e-mail to block unsolicited e-mail (SPAM).
