Automatic File Deletion

Many PCFA.ORG users accidently leave some files in their directories after downloading. PCFA.ORG automatically deletes files following these patterns: 

    *.exe   *.zip   *.hqx   
    *.wav   *.avi
    *.gif   *.jpg   *.jpeg   
    *.tif   *.tiff  *.pcx   
    *.ico   *.icon
    *.tar   *.tgz   *.Z
Please download files before they are deleted!

The routine runs around 3:00 a.m. If you download around that time, you may have to try again if PCFA.ORG deletes the file you are getting. Once PCFA.ORG checks your directory, it will not look again until the next morning.

PCFA.ORG only deletes the files in your home directory. It does NOT automatically delete files in your 'public_html', 'mail', or other sub-directory. However, there is little, if any reason to leave files on PCFA.ORG any longer than required to download them to your own computer and the system administrator may manually delete files deemed unnecessary.
