Appropriate Use Policy

Sometimes referred to as Acceptable Use Policy

PCFA.ORG is an computer system designed to provide access community resources and to the Internet. PCFA.ORG is funded by and operated by the Prescott Community Freenet Association, the 501(c)(3) non-profit association that obtained the initial funds to construct the system and obtains the connections and funds to keep the system operating.

Through PCFA.ORG, users can communicate with others, share resources, search databases, and retrieve useful information. Users are chosen by the system administration based upon this application. Users are bound by this following Appropriate Use Policy. Furthermore, any person using PCFA.ORG consents to the conditions of this policy.

Any traffic from a PCFA.ORG user which traverses another system or network, including any access to the Internet, becomes subject to the comparable policies of any system or network through which the traffic flows. Thus, PCFA.ORG users are automatically subject to the policies of the Internet service provider which provides the PCFA.ORG computer with a connection. Any violations of any system's or network's policies are deemed to be violations of the policies of PCFA.ORG.

In general:

Any user under the age of eighteen agrees to make this document known to his/her parents and obtain their approval in order to continue to use PCFA.ORG.

Due to the "open" nature of the Internet, no liability will be assumed by any Internet service provider (ISP), ISP employee, or any participant in the PCFA.ORG administration for any user's use or misuse of the system. User indemnifies and holds harmless these persons for such actions or consequences.

From time to time, the Prescott Community Freenet Association or its administrator(s) will make decisions on whether specific uses of PCFA.ORG are consistent with this policy. The decisions and policies of Prescott Community Freenet Association are subject to change without notice and are always final.

Non-compliance with this policy will result in the immediate removal of the user's account.
